One question decides a seven-figure mandate
Transfer pricing is not a high-volume search category. A few hundred people a month ask who should prepare their Form 3CEB or defend a benchmarking study before a Transfer Pricing Officer, and every one of them is a multinational with a mandate to place. That question is now answered once, in a paragraph, by an AI that names three or four firms and moves on.
At the baseline, those paragraphs named the Big Four, Nangia, Dhruva, BDO, Coinmen. Steadfast, an ITR World Tax recognised practice with real litigation depth, was in none of them. Not ranked poorly. Not there. The firm's partners could see it themselves: search the query on your own phone and the answer describes your market without you in it.
“Absent” is a harder starting point than “ranked low”, and an easier one to fix. A page on the fourth result page has already been assessed and set aside. A firm with nothing written about a topic has simply never been read.
